The real risk: the cold

Winter driving & wildlife
Roads can be icy; if you self-drive, use winter tyres, slow down and watch for reindeer on the road at dusk. Otherwise, tour transfers remove the worry entirely.

The EU emergency number is 112. Healthcare is excellent. Carry travel insurance with medical cover, and tell someone your plans if hiking alone.
