Why Kuusamo is ideal for the aurora
Three things line up here: high latitude (directly beneath the auroral zone), a genuinely dark rural sky, and one of the highest clear-night counts in Finnish Lapland — over 200 aurora-capable nights a year. Add frozen lakes and open fells for unobstructed northern horizons and you have near-perfect conditions.

Kuusamo vs Rovaniemi
