The slopes
Ruka has around 34 slopes and 20+ lifts spread across the fell, from gentle beginner runs to steeper black pistes and terrain parks. It's known for excellent snow quality and a very long season — often the first and last resort open in Finland.
Cross-country & more
Beyond downhill, Ruka has hundreds of kilometres of groomed cross-country trails, tobogganing, the Ruka Coaster, and easy access to snowshoeing in nearby Oulanka.
Skiing under the aurora
Because the season stretches deep into the dark months, you can ski Ruka's floodlit slopes in the afternoon and, on a clear night, watch the Northern Lights right from the fell.
