Two iconic Lapland stays: sleeping inside a hand-carved snow hotel, or under a glass roof watching the aurora from bed. They offer very different nights.

Here's how to choose.

Glass igloo — aurora from bed

A heated glass igloo lets you lie in warmth and watch the stars — and, on a clear active night, the Northern Lights — directly overhead. Comfortable, warm, and unbeatable for aurora viewing without stepping outside.

Snow hotel — sleep in the ice

A snow or ice hotel is an experience in itself: rooms carved from snow, ice sculptures, and a bed of ice topped with insulated sleeping bags. It's cold (around 0 to −5°C inside) but unforgettable — usually a one-night bucket-list stay.

Pair with a tour

Whichever you choose, add a guided aurora hunt to improve your odds of a strong display — glass igloos are wonderful but a mobile hunt finds clear skies.
