Ranua Wildlife Park is the northernmost zoo on the planet and one of Lapland's most loved family attractions. Set in genuine Arctic forest, it's home to around 50 northern species — roughly 150 animals — living in large, natural-feeling enclosures along a single easy walking trail.
The undisputed stars are Finland's only polar bears, but you'll also meet brown bears, lynx, wolverine, Arctic fox, musk ox, reindeer, otters and a cast of owls and other northern birds. The 3-kilometre boardwalk loop takes most visitors 1.5 to 2 relaxed hours.

We offer door-to-door return transfers from accommodation in Ruka, Kuusamo and Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi is about a 1-hour drive from the park; Ruka and Kuusamo are roughly 1¼ hours. Tell us your hotel or cabin when you book.

Absolutely. The animal trail is a flat, well-maintained 3 km boardwalk that's easy for children and stroller-friendly, and it takes about 1.5–2 hours at a relaxed pace. There's a café and restaurant on site to warm up.
