Notes importantes

Âge minimum 8 ans. Excursions chaque nuit de septembre à mars, départ entre 20 h et 21 h 30 selon l'obscurité de la saison. Le lieu exact est décidé le soir même selon la météo et les prévisions d'aurore.

L'expérience

A classic northern lights hunt through the Kuusamo wilderness. We follow the aurora and cloud forecast on the night and drive to the darkest, clearest skies to give you the best possible chance of seeing the lights — away from town glow, out where the sky is at its brightest.

Warm drinks by the fire while we wait and watch, with your guide explaining what causes the aurora and how to read the night sky.

Notes importantes

La plus paisible de nos excursions — un doux traîneau à rennes glisse à travers la forêt jusqu'à un lávvu finlandais traditionnel (tipi). À l'intérieur, un feu brûle. Vous vous réchauffez près du feu, puis sortez chercher l'aurore dans le ciel clair du nord.

L'expérience

Get equipped at the safari office, then drive to Juuma in Oulanka National Park. Strap on snowshoes and walk through snow-covered forest to the beautiful Myllykoski rapids, crossing the hanging bridge above the running water. Pause for hot chocolate and pastries by an old mill before heading back. A gentle 4–5km route through some of Finland's most photogenic winter scenery.

A guided winter adventure from Rovaniemi through the snowy wilderness of Finnish Lapland to Ruka. Ride the world's northernmost roller coaster — a 767m track that winds through snowy hills at up to 40 km/h with stunning views. You control the speed yourself with a brake lever, so it's gentle for younger kids and a full thrill for everyone else. The day also includes a scenic drive through frozen forests and a guided walk along safe winter trails to learn about the area's geology and nature.

Ranua Wildlife Park is the northernmost zoo in the world and home to around 50 Arctic and northern species — about 150 animals in total — including Finland's only polar bears. Wander the 3km forest boardwalk past brown bears, lynx, wolverine, Arctic fox, musk ox, reindeer and snowy owls, all living in spacious, natural enclosures. We handle the round-trip drive so you can simply enjoy the day.
